Ramón y Cajal was born in Petilla de Aragón (Navarra). His father was Justo Ramón Casaús, and her mother was Antonia Cajal. Justo and Antonia lived in Larrés. Ramón y Cajal studied in Zaragoza. He worked as a doctor in 1873. In 1874 Ramón y Cajal went to Cuba where he worked as a doctor. In 1878 he had tuberculosis. In 1854 was born his brother Pedro. In 1857 was born his sisther Pabla.
